Reviews

SAIKO is one of multiple monikers used by Berlin-by-way-of-Texas resident Jeff Gburek.  As a friend and collaborator of such luminaries as Tetuzi Akiyama and Charalambides’ Tom Carter, Gburek extends his guitar into a world of otherness. Mixing in elements of obscured and manipulated vocals and minimal synthesizers, saiko is an cosmos-bound vessel appropriating the sea. this is the blues cut-up, pieced back together, and then drowned in the bathtub before ascending to the heavens.
